Method
Preparation
- Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, coating them evenly.
- Set up a breading station: In one bowl, place the flour; in a second bowl, mix the beaten eggs and milk.
- Dip each pork chop into the flour, coating completely, then into the egg mixture allowing excess to drip off, and back into the flour for another coat.
Cooking
- Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully add the breaded pork chops to the skillet once the oil is hot.
- Fry the pork chops for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Ensure pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Once cooked, place pork chops on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Serving
- Serve the Country Fried Pork Chops hot, optionally with sides like mashed potatoes, sautéed green beans, or a fresh salad.
- For added richness, drizzle homemade gravy over the pork chops.
Notes
For extra flavor, allow seasoned pork chops to sit for about 30 minutes before breading. Don’t overcrowd the skillet while frying to maintain oil temperature and ensure even cooking. Use a meat thermometer for checking doneness and consider double breading for an extra crispy exterior. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
