Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
- Add the softened butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients; beat until smooth.
Baking
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Assembly
- While the cakes cool, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until soft peaks form.
- Once cooled, place one cake layer on a serving plate and top with a layer of sliced strawberries and whipped cream.
- Add the second cake layer on top and repeat with the remaining strawberries and whipped cream.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Store in the fridge for about 3-4 days, keeping it covered. For best results, add strawberries and whipped cream just before serving.
