Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potato slices followed by half of the onion slices.
- In a saucepan, heat the cream and butter until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the potato and onion layers.
- Repeat the layering with the remaining potatoes and onions, then pour the rest of the cream mixture on top.
- Sprinkle cheese over the top layer.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
